Welcome Back from Whirlow

Welcome Back to RF, RN, TG and the Gruffalos from Whirlow Farm.

It sounds like you had an amazing time.  I can't wait to see the pictures next week.  I'll be sure to put them online  Mrs Hansbury will be in our class for the next two days, but I'll still be working in school.  I can't wait to hear all of your stories!

Dog Story

Today we read Dog Story by Kathy Henderson.  We enjoyed it so much we ended up researching Dogs on the internet. Mr Murphy used to have a white dog when he was at school, but didn't know what type it was.  We found these dogs:

The Space Around Us

Welcome back everyone.  I hope you had a lovely half term.  Did you do anything interesting?
I went for lots of walks around Sheffield, and the countryside around South Yorkshire.

Does anyone know what Sheffield is?  And what is South Yorkshire?  How can we live in Walkley, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, Great Britain, United Kingdom, Europe and the World at the same time?

I wonder, can you use this map to find Sheffield?  You can click on it to zoom in and out.

I will give you a CWR if you can find exactly where Anansi Base is!  Good Luck!

Our topic this Half Term will be "The Space Around Us!"  I wonder what things we will be learning!

There are lots of exciting things happening this week. Some of our Year 2s are going on a trip to stay at a farm!  I will be going to visit after school, so if you have any letters to send to them pass them on to me and I will post them on!

Super Puppets

To finish off our Superhero Work we made puppets out of wooden spoons.  Thanks to Mrs Laver for finding the spoons for us!  We hope you like our short film!

Super Maths Morning

Today we have had a marvelous maths morning.  We had a go at completing Maths Bingo.  ES completed the multiplication level!

 Then we used Venn Diagrams to sort out Superheroes

 We used our superpowers to throw markers in the hall, then measured the distance

And finally we used multilink to make complex repeating patterns!

Easter Fair Planning Group
