Walkley Culture Week 2012

This week, children from all over KS1 will be moving into different classes to experience and celebrate the different cultures that make up Walkley Primary School.
Children from the Bear Class and the Gruffalo Class will be mixing with children from our class to experience Eastern Europe, Arabic and African culture.
If you are lucky enough to come into Anansi Class, you will be treated to a Swahili version of Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

Head – kichwa
Shoulders – mabega
Knees – Magoti
Toes – vidole
Eyes – Macho
Ears – Masikio
Mouth – kinywa
Nose - pua

Then you will try to make your own Kente repeating pattern.
Finally, you will have a go at the Ghanaian Dance, Azonto.

I will put up the best work this week!  I wonder if anyone in Africa is looking at our blog, and wants to tell us what they think of our work.

Hello.

We love to hear from people interested in our school, and our children want to know what you think of their work!

However, any comments will be moderated by the staff at Walkley Primary School before they are uploaded on our Blog, so it might take a little while before we publish them. Please be patient and thankyou for commenting!
